Mortuary Security

In light of the recent news that has shaken the whole profession and the lives of the poor families affected, I feel it might be the right time to share some of up to date training we have undertaken to ensure the service we provide to you and your loved ones is the best it could possibly be.

As company owner and facilitator of training and quality practices within our company, I recently, (November 2023), completed a new course in Mortuary Management, teaching and promoting Quality Management Systems and up to date security within our mortuary facilities.

Of course, these quality practices have always been on upmost importance within our profession, but none more so than recently following some sad national news and the subsequent government's Fuller Enquiry into mortuary security and now with the troubles in the North of the country shining a spotlight on general practices.

I felt it prudent that we are completely up to date with modern mortuary care standards, security management to ensure that we are able to best care for our families and your loved ones.

Our Mortuary facility is secured with multipoint locks and CCTV. Only employed members of staff and trusted, fully supervised tradesmen are able to access the facility, full records are kept those working within the vicinity.

Information from NAFD Education board and North Tees University

The course was delivered by the National Association of Funeral Directors and North Tees University and is aimed at supporting funeral professionals in achieving excellence in mortuary management. .

As the UK Government continues to scrutinise the standards and quality of every stakeholder involved in the care and preparation of the deceased, the objective of this course is to introduce quality management processes and procedures specific to mortuary operations, to ensure that all funeral businesses understand how to achieve consistency of quality managed standards and monitoring for the benefit of continuous business improvement.
