Direct cremation is a no fuss, no service funeral with no family or mourners present, these choices are becoming more common due to the rising costs of traditional funerals and also influential media advertising.

Due to the rise in media advertising surrounding these types of funeral geared mainly toward saving money, we wish to be transparent in sharing with the public and our customers how we differ and how we stand by and maintain the highest standards of professionalism, dignity and care no matter what the funeral service.

These are some of the practices we are committed to providing that differ from others.

• Most importantly, we feel we need to express that your loved one will be treated with the same dignity and respect whilst in our care, and we ensure that the cremation will take place at one of our local Crematoria here in Cornwall. We guarantee this and we feel this sets us apart.

• You will have contact with us, personally, on all levels at all times. We do not operate an impersonal call centre to arrange a funeral for your loved one.

• Our management and staff are on hand at all times, including collecting your loved one at any time of the day or night individually, retaining the upmost dignity. Other advertised companies may use companies other than their own for this or in some cases, large vehicles carrying large numbers are utilised.

• We always use our local Crematoria (or Crematorium of your choice) to carry out our Direct Cremations. We do not transport your loved one many miles across the country, often with many others, in order to complete the cremation process at the cheapest price.

• We use our hearse to transport your loved one to the crematorium, we believe in a respectful final journey.

• We will arrange for the Direct Cremation Service to take place as soon as possible or when suits you as a family. There are no extraordinarily long or undefined waiting times.

• Though family and mourners are unable to attend Direct Cremation Services, (there are separate options at certain Crematoria in the county that allow attendance) we are willing to tell you when the service will be so that you are able to hold your own private vigil at home if you wish, or following Memorial Service, we feel this is important. Many of the advertised providers are unwilling or unable to do this.

• If you so wish, you are able to collect your loved ones ashes as soon as they are available, this can be the same day, or next working day. We will not impose long waiting times for your loved ones ashes to be returned to you in the post.

  Of course, because we always maintain the same values and standards of practice for all funerals you are able to tailor your complete funeral service to suit your family or your wishes. These can also be changed or added along the way, we understand that you may decide you would like to, (some services may incur an additional fee)

• Visit our Chapel of Rest to spend time with or view your loved one.

• Provide flowers to accompany their coffin.

• Have a Minister to bless the coffin with your loved one in our Chapel of Rest.

• You may like to choose certain music for your loved one to enter the Chapel to.

• You may change to want to attend a simple service that you can attend at the Crematorium.

• You may like a different container for your loved ones ashes or like them delivery by hand to you.

  And many other different options that make each funeral, no matter how simple, personal to each and every person. Other advertised companies will not be able to offer you this choice.
